Embodied Healing: Transforming Pain by Befriending Your Body, Thursday November 28th, 10am-2pm PST.

I am so excited to bring your this one-day online workshop to learn how to work compassionately with your body whether you have ongoing pain, illness or anxiety.

Pain disconnects us from ourselves causing our nervous systems to be dysregulated in a vicious cycle that intensifies the suffering we experience.

Coming back into this experience feels counter-intuitive to survival, and yet with a trauma-sensitive approach we can learn to inhabit our bodies again and expand the experience to include far more than only discomfort. We can learn to breathe, feel pleasure, and reconnect with life again.

Reconnect with your body’s wisdom and healing abilities by coming into a healthy healing relationship.

You will learn:

  • How ongoing pain and illness does not have to be a life sentence and we can expand out of the medical model to self-healing
  • How a polyvagal approach can assist you in understanding ongoing pain that is not “all in your head”
  • The critical role of your vagus nerve, and mind-body techniques to work with it to moderate your body's fight/flight/freeze responses in the face of pain
  • Skills and tools to use in daily life to reduce pain and suffering and shift your nervous system patterning
  • Soothing somatic (body) practices to calm and nurture your body and restore natural healing abilities

 Your guide: Madeleine Eames, MSW

I have been working in the areas of healing trauma and pain for over 2 decades both privately and within a medical setting.

My interest lies in mind-body approaches to healing that promotes self-empowerment and ultimately brings about true healing and less suffering,

My approach incorporates both eastern and western modalities including breathwork, mindfulness, somatic (body) therapies through a trauma-sensitive and polyvagal perspective.
